FIRST RYDER CUP TEAM: 1927 Although many observers concurred
that the U.S. was at a disadvantage, Farrell and Turnesa whipped what was supposed to be Britain's best team, Duncan and Compston,
by an 8-and-6 margin. Then, the second day Farrell set the tone for the U.S. with a 5-and-4 victory over Boomer in a match
that pitted the two hottest players of the week. The result? The first Ryder Cup tally -- United States 9 1/2, Great Britain
2 1/2!
